It’s official - the ribbon has been cut! ✂️✨

Today marked a truly special milestone for the inner-north as we officially opened the doors to Goodwin Village Downer. We were absolutely delighted to have ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr MLA join the celebration, alongside ACT Minister for Health Rachel Stephen-Smith MLA, who performed the ceremonial ribbon cutting with CHC CEO Nathan Dal Bon, Goodwin Board Chair Fiona Jolly, Goodwin CEO Stephen Holmes and first Downer residents Chris & Angelika.

Located on Melba Street, this beautiful new community features:

📌 109 premium independent living apartments filled with natural light.
📌 20 boutique serviced apartments offering that little bit of extra daily support.
📌 A heritage-inspired design featuring deep red and dark grey terracotta façades that pay homage to the classic 1960s character of the inner-north.

Yesterday, we came together to celebrate the people, teams and sponsors who helped make this year's Team Goodwin Memory Walk & Jog our biggest yet.

From residents and clients to staff, families, schools, community groups and corporate sponsors, every dollar raised represents hope for Australians impacted by dementia.

Together, #TeamGoodwin didn't just meet the goal, we more than doubled it, raising an incredible $147,041 for Dementia Australia to support vital research, advocacy and support services.
